DC high voltage generator, also known as high voltage generator, is mainly suitable for power maintenance departments, industrial and mining, metallurgy, steel and other enterprises' power departments to conduct DC withstand voltage tests on high-voltage electrical equipment such as zinc oxide lightning arresters, power cables, transformers, generators, and high-voltage switches.
The characteristics of a DC high-voltage generator mainly include high output power, small size, and light weight. It has reliable overvoltage, overcurrent, and zero position closing protection functions. The AC voltage input by the transformer is raised by hundreds of times and then rectified to provide the necessary DC high voltage for generating X-rays for the X-ray tube. Also, the AC voltage input to the primary circuit of the X-ray tube filament is reduced to provide heating voltage for the X-ray tube. If equipped with two or more X-ray tubes, the switching between tube voltage and filament heating voltage must be completed.
Below are common troubleshooting techniques for DC high-voltage generators:
1. When the power switch is turned on, the digital display on the control box does not light up
Please check the power connection and all fuses. If the fuse is damaged, please replace it with a new one according to the amperage indicated next to the fuse seat.
2. If the power switch is turned on, the digital display will light up, the high voltage display light (green) will not light up, and high voltage cannot be applied.
① The fault display "return to zero" light is on
If there is no return to zero position, please turn the high voltage output adjustment knob and fine adjustment knob counterclockwise to return to zero position until the "return to zero" light goes out, then high voltage can be added.
② There are two phenomena when the fault display "Other" light is on: 1. Grounding protection, 2. Disconnecting protection
a. Perhaps the grounding wire is not properly connected or the grounding wire is unreliable. Please connect a reliable ground wire, turn off the power, and restart.
b. It is possible that the cable connecting the control box and the high-voltage tower is not properly connected. Please turn off the power and restart after connecting the cable. When the welding joints at both ends of the cable come loose, this fault may occur. Please weld the welding joints at both ends of the cable, turn off the power, and restart.
c. It is possible that a wire end inside the control box has detached and disconnected. Please re weld it, turn off the power, and restart.
3. Everything is normal, but it is protected during the process of not reaching the rated output voltage
① The fault display "overcurrent" light is on
a. Short circuit or excessive leakage current of the test sample.
b. When there is a large capacitive load, the boost is too fast. Turn off the power, restart, and slow down the boost speed.
② The fault display shows that the "overvoltage" light is on
The overvoltage protection setting knob is not placed in the Zui position. Please rotate it clockwise to the Zui position, turn off the power, and restart.
4. When a short circuit occurs under high voltage of the test sample, due to the large short-circuit current, it is possible to turn on all the fault display lights, which is normal. Please troubleshoot the test sample and restart.
5. After troubleshooting the sample, the fault display light still lights up and high voltage cannot be applied.
The power switch also serves as a fault protection reset switch. Please turn off the power switch and restart it to boost the voltage.
