What is the transformer short circuit impedance tester?
 
The transformer short-circuit impedance tester can be used to measure the low-voltage short-circuit impedance and test the low-voltage short-circuit impedance. The measurement of low-voltage short-circuit impedance is the basic item in the routine test items. Comparing the short-circuit impedance measured before and after the transformer is impacted by the short-circuit current, according to its change size, the winding deformation degree can be preliminarily estimated. The change of short-circuit impedance between the transformer and the original low-voltage short-circuit test after the short-circuit current impact shall not be more than 2%.
 
Low voltage short-circuit impedance test is the most direct method to identify whether the transformer is impacted by the short-circuit current in operation, or whether the winding is deformed after the transformer is impacted by the mechanical force during transportation and installation. It is of great significance to judge whether the transformer can be put into operation, and it is also one of the bases to judge whether the transformer requires disassembly inspection. According to 15.6, the transformer shall be tested for low-voltage short-circuit impedance or for winding deformation by frequency response method after suffering sudden short-circuit in the near area, and shall not be put into operation until it is judged that the transformer has no fault by comparing with the original record.
